Special Education and General Education

Becoming a teacher was an easy decision for me. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher.  I remember pretending to play school with my siblings when we were kids.  Throughout my school years at Saint Aloysius and Bishop Luers High School, I had a few teachers that I absolutely loved, and seeing the joy in them when teaching really made me want to enjoy my job when I got older. I wanted to be able to help children learn and grow in their faith.

I went on to college and pursued a degree in special education.  Later on, I was presented with an opportunity to teach in the gen ed classroom, where I then received my general education license.  I have had the opportunity to teach middle school and elementary. Having experience teaching in all grade levels has allowed me to see the importance of learning at every level.

I love working with kids, and the smiles they bring each day allow me to enjoy what I do. Every day is a new day in the classroom. There is no “typical” day, which is something that I love about teaching.  It is amazing to get to work with all these talented children and to watch them grow each year! I love getting to know new families and watching friendships grow from them.

I love Saint Aloysius for many reasons.  I have belonged to this parish and school my entire life.  I am an alumni of Saint Aloysius, along with all my siblings, my father, my grandparents, etc.  I originally started teaching at another catholic school before I came to Saint Aloysius, and after I started teaching here, I remember saying that I can’t imagine myself teaching at another school. This school is home for me.

Saint Aloysius has given me the opportunity to teach middle school, elementary, RTI, be a one-on-one student aid, and tutor. The support from staff members, parents, and the parish has been wonderful. I love the country setting, our strong faith, small class sizes, the families, students, and friendships! I truly enjoy hearing about and sharing special moments with my students.  In 1st grade, there are a lot of firsts that happen and it makes my heart warm to get the privilege to be a part of them.  Teaching at Saint Aloysius has brought me so much joy! Our school is one big family!

People are the masterpiece of God’s creation.  How honored am I to spend my life’s work in partnership with God and parents by molding children.  Every day is different with a variety of personalities, working to help students grow spiritually in our rich Catholic faith, and guiding them to gain knowledge in a variety of subject areas.  It’s great to see students challenged, work at something, and achieve growth!

I enjoy the small community at St. Aloysius where everyone knows each other and helps one another.  We have a lot of opportunities to work together across grade levels.  No student is lost between the cracks as us teachers can make individualized plans for student growth and success.  I especially appreciate the opportunity to live our Catholic faith daily and grow spiritually right along with the students!

SUE FRAUENFELDER

SCHOOL SECRETARY

My family has quite a long history with St. Aloysius parish. My great grandparents and grandparents were parishioners. I was four years old when we moved into the St. Aloysius area. My siblings and I attended St. Aloysius School and then Bishop Luers High School. Fortunately, my sons and grandchildren are also St. Aloysius graduates.

I started in the school office at the beginning of the 1984-85 school year. We have undergone many changes in the succeeding years. However, the most important thing has remained constant, the atmosphere. Strong faith education, participation and top-notch academics, all presented in a caring comfortable atmosphere.

As you can imagine, no two days are exactly alike. While there are basic daily duties, kids always add "spice & variety" to the day. But each day provides the opportunity for progress, inching along or sometimes in a great leap, either way, moving students forward to their goals.
